Pokemon Go developer Niantic is preparing for a Christmas event..

This makes it like the Halloween Pokemon Go event, which saw more Ghost Pokemon released into the wild.

Niantic will also reportedly reduce the amount of steps players have to travel to hatch eggs and gain Buddy bonuses.

There’s even speculation that the first Legendary Pokemon will be released into the wild, perhaps as a Christmas gift

A recent Pokemon Go update adds a new daily bonus feature, which reward players with bonus XP and stardust for their first catch of the day.

To celebrate the launch of the new feature, Niantic has released even more Pokemon and items into the wild.

This follows the recently launched Pokemon Go Halloween update, which introduced various bonuses and upped the spawn rate of certain Pokemon.

But even more exciting was the release of Ditto into the Pokemon Go gaming app.

Ditto is an unusual Pokemon in that it takes the form of a different Pokemon and only reveals itself after you’ve made the catch.

By making Ditto Pokemon GO available via common Pocket Monster catches, it’ll provide the perfect spur for those who haven’t gone out and caught a Rattata in a while.

It’s believed that Niantic will follow this up with the launch of 100 Gen 2 Pokemon, as well as player-vs-player battles and trading.
