Tech Columnist AARON BROWN published an article on the new Nokia 3310.
The Nokia 3310 is back.
The lightweight feature phone was one of the biggest surprises from the Mobile World Congress tradeshow this year.
HMD Global (the company that now sells smartphones under the Nokia brand) revived the classic 17-year-old phone during its press conference.
NOKIA HAS MADE A NUMBER OF CHANGES TO THE NEW NOKIA 3310
Nokia has made a number of changes to the new Nokia 3310 to bring it up-to-date with rival devices, including the addition of a 2MP rear camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and an overhauled Snake game.
However, it missed one of the most crucial features for a modern smartphone.
HMD Global will sell its re-imagined feature phone for a reasonable €49, roughly £42 converted.
But for those who yearn for the extortionate price tags usually associated with high-end smartphones, luxury brand Gresso has you covered.
Dubbed the Gresso 3310, the luxury phone manufacturer’s version of the 17-year-old classic carries a hefty £2,450 asking price – and an even heftier Grade 5 titanium body.
THAT GRADE 5 TITANIUM CASE ALLOWS THE GRESSO 3310
That Grade 5 titanium case allows the Gresso 3310 to survive a plummet from a three-story building, the manufacturers claim.
The Gresso 3310 doesn’t look identical to the new Nokia 3310, nor does it carry the official name. So, clearly, this is not part of the official line-up unveiled by HMD Global last month.
Gresso’s new Nokia 3310 includes a battery capable of 75 hours of talk time, and 720 hours of standby.
But those who want to splash £2,450 on a nostalgic tribute to Nokia need not look elsewhere.
Everyone else will be pleased to know that pre-order registration for HMD Global’s overhauled Nokia 3310 is now open.

THE QUESTION ON EVERYONE’S MIND WAS IF THEY NEW NOKIA
“The question on everyone’s mind was if the new Nokia 3310 model would live up to the indestructible reputation of its 2000 predecessor.
“Crafted from grade 5 titanium, the Gresso 3310 is able to withstand a drop from 32 feet, making the world’s ‘unbreakable’ phone actually indestructible.”
